5 Early Signs of Prostate Problems Men Should Not Ignore

5個男性不應忽視的前列腺問題早期徵兆Prostate problems are common in men, especially after the age of 40. Many conditions—such as prostate enlargement, inflammation, or even prostate cancer—can start with mild symptoms that are easy to overlook. Recognizing early warning signs can help with timely diagnosis and treatment.

5 Early Signs of Prostate Problems

1. Frequent Urination, Especially at Night

Needing to urinate more often than usual, particularly during the night (nocturia), is one of the earliest signs of prostate issues. An enlarged prostate can press on the bladder and affect normal urine flow.

2. Weak or Interrupted Urine Flow

If your urine stream feels weaker than before, stops and starts, or takes longer to empty the bladder, it may indicate prostate enlargement or obstruction of the urethra.

3. Difficulty Starting Urination

Straining or hesitating before urine starts to flow is another common symptom. This can be frustrating and is often associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

4. Pain or Discomfort When Urinating or Ejaculating

Pain, burning, or discomfort during urination or ejaculation may suggest prostate inflammation (prostatitis) or infection and should not be ignored.

5. Blood in Urine or Semen

Although less common, blood in the urine or semen is a red flag symptom that requires immediate medical attention, as it may be linked to more serious prostate conditions.

When Should You See a Doctor?

If you experience any of the above symptoms—especially if they persist or worsen—it is advisable to consult a doctor. Early prostate screening can help detect issues before they become serious.
Men over 40, or those with a family history of prostate disease, should consider regular prostate health checks.
